Seventy-three percent of the US population over 12 years old (an estimated 209 million people) have listened to online audio in the last month, according to Edison Research's annual Infinite Dial Report. This jump was primarily driven by listeners age 35+, as the number of those age 35+ who listen to online audio monthly increased by 13% year over year. Weekly online audio listening also rose to 67% of the U.S. 12+ population, up from 62% in 2021.
In the UK, British subscribers listen to 6.5 podcast hours per week. 19% of all adults listen to a podcast each week.
In my opinion, podcasts are the perfect content for very targeted audiences, as pretty much anyone can create one and listeners can seek out shows that reflect their interests. So not only can we pursue our interests of True Crime and Fantasy Football (ok, maybe that's just mine), but also focus on our professional interests as well. So I reached out to several contacts on LinkedIn for their recommendations on the best Talent Acquisition podcasts.
In coming up with this specific list, the following criteria were used as guidelines.
- TA Focused, not HR general content.
- Independent thought leadership, not published by a brand.
- Active - Must publish regularly and recently.
- At least 10 episodes over its history.
- Relevant to the industry with a diverse list of topics and guests.
- Must be on Spotify which is my podcast tool of choice.
Without further ado, here are the best podcasts in Talent Acquisition (in no particular order). Please let us know if you agree. The descriptions come from either the LinkedIn page, Spotify or the podcast's website and the image is the most recent show.
